About Halsey DIY

Josh’s journey as a cabinet and furniture maker began at the North Bennet Street School in Boston’s North End, where he was trained in traditional woodworking by skilled craftsmen. Precision and attention to detail became central to his work ethic. While studying, he worked in various cabinet shops in Boston, creating custom furniture for clients nationwide.

Seeking to broaden his expertise, Josh earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, graduating Summa Cum Laude and as a Department of Defense SMART Scholar. This engineering background enhanced his technical skills, allowing him to integrate engineering principles into his woodworking.

After a brief stint as a design engineer for the US Army, Josh returned to woodworking. He now uses his unique blend of skills to help clients bring their visions to life. In his free time, Josh trains for and competes in triathlons.
